Marilyn “Mimi” Christoph of Highland Park, Illinois passed away on August 20, 2016. She was born April 24, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Margaret and Edward Dietrich. She was nurtured by her grandparents, Susie and Matthew Dietrich of Wilmette, Illinois. She graduated from St. Joseph Grammar School and Regina Dominican High School in Wilmette, Illinois. Marilyn is survived by her beloved Aunt and Uncle Margaret and Don Olson of Poplar Grove, Illinois and fond cousins Susan Faust of LaGrange Park, Illinois; John Olson of Galesburg, Illinois; Ina Gerald of Naperville, Illinois and Christine Depenbrok of DesPlaines, Illinois and dear godson, Matthew Faust of LaGrange Park along with numerous cousins. She was a faithful employee of 17 years at Sunset Foods in Highland Park, Illinois where she was part of their caring and concerned family. Her family wishes to thank her Sunset Foods friends and coworkers who gave of their time and selves unselfishly during her illness, as well as North Shore University Health System and Heartland Hospice of Rockford, Illinois for their comfort and care and to her neighbors and friends for their support and caring. Marilyn especially enjoyed visiting whenever possible and enjoyed the friendships she made at her “home away from home” in Candlewick Lake (where she was known to have had a fishing pole in the water!) Holidays especially made her, and others, happy with Christmas and Halloween her favorites. Her dinner dates with friends at so many special restaurants topped her list of enjoyment, and her outgoing spirit endeared herself to many and increased her continued list of friends.
