Denise Riley Philpot, age 87, beloved wife of the late Seward F. Philpot Jr.; loving mother of Tracy A. Albano and the late Brian R. Philpot; dear grandmother of Gabriella Shannon and Brian James Albano; loving sister of the late Vroman (Cynthia) Riley; aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Denise was a life-long resident of the Chicago area. Raised in South Shore, longtime resident of Wilmette and most recently of Evanston. She was a graduate of DePaul University and worked as a Research Biologist for Armour Laboratories before marriage. She served on boards of directors of church and political organizations and had experience in insurance, banking and real estate. She was a professional book reviewer for over 50 years, having retired in 2009.
Funeral Mass Saturday, July 23, 2016, 10 a.m. at Saint Joseph Church, 1747 Lake Avenue, Wilmette, IL 60091.
